Small onions do have a higher BRIX value, compared to bigger ones. So, increased shelf life and higher nutritional value.
Test setup:
On 12 acres of farm land a farmer seeded onions in April 2009. Partly this area is treated on the conventional way and partly the farmer added our AgroSensi 904 product as an extra. Fertilisation and spraying with chemicals has been done the way it always has been done. The test harvest has been done on:
- Random rows of farmland, harvested by hand
- 5 rows of exactly 100 cm. pulled out, for the control group as well as the AgroSensi 904 treated plants
- Counted plants on the test parts of the land (see pictures below)
- Cut the leaves, washed the onions and weighed
- Performed a BRIX reading on a random set of onions of both groups
